R U L E S & R E G U L A T I O N S


The following categories will be organized:

  • Men’s Open
  • Women’s Open
  • U23 Men – born in or after 1996
  • U23 Women – born in or after 1996
  • U18 Men – born in or after 2001
  • U18 Women – born in or after 2001

Team Composition

Each team shall consist of 4 players, one of whom shall be the team captain.

Registration Period (Closed)

Entry Fees

Entry fee shall be SGD 60 per team. Fees paid are non-refundable.

Payment to be made at Basketball Association of Singapore’s office at Singapore Basketball Centre, 601 Aljunied Avenue 1, #01-04, Singapore 389862.

For the Men’s Open and Women’s Open category, clubs that participated in the 2019 ICBC National Basketball League Division I and 2019 Women’s National Basketball League need not pay an entry fee for their first two registered teams provided the team is registered under their club’s name. Their players list must also comprise at least 2 players from their 2019 ICBC National Basketball League Division I and 2019 Women’s National Basketball League roster.


Medals will be awarded to the top three teams.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams:

  • Champion - $300
  • Runner-Up - $200
  • Third - $100

In the event that there are only 4 teams competing (minimum to start), only the top two prizes will be awarded.

Captains’ Meeting

The captains’ meeting will take place on 16 October 2019, 7pm at Singapore Basketball Centre.

** Note : It was previously scheduled on 2nd October 2019.

Every participating team must be represented. The team captains will be briefed on the gameplay and rules of 3x3 basketball.

The competition draw will also be conducted during this meeting if there are insufficient teams with ranking points.

Entry Procedure

All players must be registered in https://play.fiba3x3.com with a confirmed account. Only players registered with a confirmed account are eligible to play.

The following items must be submitted when making an entry. Teams will only have their place confirmed after all the required items below are submitted.

  • Completed & Signed Entry Form
  • Proof of verified FIBA 3x3 account
  • Payment of entry fee
  • Signed indemnity forms (for players under 18 years old)
  • Proof of Singapore citizenship

All entries must be sent to paulng@bas.org.sg by the deadline.

Player Eligibility

Only Singapore citizens are eligible to participate. For the avoidance of doubt, the player must possess a Singapore passport at the time of registration to be eligible.

Only registered players are eligible to play. The organizers reserve the right to request identification from players at any time during the competition.

Competition Draw

Teams will be drawn into their respective pools based on the team’s 3x3 ranking points. Team ranking points are the sum of the ranking points of the team’s three highest ranked players. Should there be insufficient teams with ranking points at the close of registration, the pools will be drawn randomly during the Captains’ Meeting. The teams with ranking points will be seeded accordingly.

Competition Format

The competition will be played with a pool phase followed by single elimination knockout.

Playing Uniforms

Each team must bring two sets of playing jerseys, with one set white and one set dark in color.

Coaching Restrictions

No coach may be present on the playing courts and no coaching is allowed (remotely from the bleachers or otherwise).

Game Times

The competition schedule handed out by the organizers is effective through only the competition’s first game. Unless otherwise communicated by the organizers, following the competition’s first game, each team is required to check the master scoreboard for all official schedules, times, courts, revisions, and general game information.

Teams must be ready to begin play at their scheduled start time. Teams are encouraged to remain in contact with their court to observe the effects of scheduling changes that could affect the timing of their games.

Rules of the Game

Decisions made by the referees are final, and are not subject to review by video or other recordings, or other sources. The referees shall have the power to make decisions on any points not specifically covered in the official 3x3 Rules of the Game and to interpret the intent and purpose thereof.

Competition Administration

Any questions or disputes will be discussed only with the team captain. All disputes which do not fall under the authority of the referees must be brought to the attention of the organizers as soon as the incident in question has happened. Disputes will not be heard after the competition has been completed.
